About ...
Rodrigo Sandoval was born in Santiago de Chile
in 1968. Since an early age he developed his scientific interest
as well as his natural feeling for artistic expressions, such as
music. Later, nature and adventure activities took an important
role in his life, motivating his passion for travel, outdoors,
and photography.
Rodrigo has particularily developed an intense career
and recognition in the Chilean and Latinamerican flyfishing scenario. He
is a noted and recognized flyfishing, nature and outdoors photographer
and writer, having published more than 100 articles in Chilean and
international media. A feature production is his spanish-and-english
book "Chile, the flyfishing adventure" (Chile,
la aventura de pescar con mosca) and
RiosySenderos.com, the most complete and respected flyfishing source
in spanish, as chief editor.
At the same time, Rodrigo Sandoval is an engineer,
with a Master of Science in Computer Science, graduated from Universidad
Catolica de Chile in 1996. Afterwards he has worked in the IT industry
with passion and dedication, taking roles as scientific as well as in
management. He has kept is relation to University and today is an
associate staff professor of the Engineering School at the same university,
designing and leading new computer science courses.
Currently Rodrigo balances his time as Technical Lead
for Synopsys Inc., a high-tech software company based in Silicon Valley, Engineering University Professor,
Outdoor Editor, Writer, and passionately as Nature and Adventure
Photographer.
He lives in a mountain area in the border of Santiago
de Chile, with his wife Isabel Margarita, and daughters Javiera and
Camila, sharing their passion for travel, adventure and exploring Chile
and other countries.
